HED offers a complete line of hairpin exchangers.
These exchangers provide true counter-current flow and are especially suited for
extreme temperature crossing, high pressure, high temperature, and low to moderate surface
area requirements.
Hairpin exchangers have the following advantages
over Shell & Tube exchangers:
More economical for low to medium surface
requirement, below 20" shell diameters
More efficient and less expensive for extreme
temperature crossing application where multiple Shell & Tube units in series are
needed
Ideal for wide temperature ranges, greater than 250F
where expansion joints are needed for Shell & Tube exchangers
Handle higher velocities, larger retention time, and
lower pressure drop
More adaptable economically to service changes,
re-piping, or add-ons where Shell & Tubes are hardly efficient in change of service and
expensive to adapt.
Less and inexpensive spare part requirement
Shorter delivery and installation due to
standardization
